Week of September 14, 2005 | Otto Penzler On Ed McBain

This week’s guest is Otto Penzler, the proprietor of The Mysterious Bookshop. Otto and I discuss FIDDLERS, the last 87th precinct novel written by the recently deceased Ed McBain. McBain wrote 55 novels in the 87th precinct series, creating the finest series of police procedurals in modern fiction. Otto and McBain were close friends. FIDDLERS is part of the Otto Penzler imprint published by Harcourt. McBain also wrote dozens of novels under the pen name Evan Hunter. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
