Week of January 19,
2005 | Christopher
Whitcomb
This
week's guest is Christopher Whitcomb. Mr. Whitcomb is a retired member
of the FBI's elite
Hostage Rescue Team. During the six years he spent as a sniper he was
involved in our country's
most visible FBI missions, including Ruby Ridge and Waco.
His first
book, COLD
ZERO,
is a memoir of his days with the FBI. It is a fascinating inside look
at the demands, both personal
and physical, of his fifteen year career with the FBI. COLD ZERO was
published by Little
Brown in 2001.
BLACK,
also published by Little Brown in 2004, is Mr. Whitcomb's first novel.
BLACK is a compelling look
into the world of 'black operations', top-secret missions that few in
our government
know about. The plot involves the use of sophisticated cellular
technology that has
fallen into the wrong hands.
The story
introduces the reader to Jeremy Waller, a member of
the FBI Hostage Rescue Team. Waller will return in WHITE, which will
be published in June, 2005.
Mr. Whitcomb discusses both novels in our interview. He also tells us
of his work in Hollywood.
Christopher
Whitcomb is well on his way to becoming one of our country's most
talented and popular authors. His books go beyond the normal bounds of
the thriller genre. His personal experience gives us an entree into a
side of technology and terrorism that is not available
in most books of this type. His voice is a welcome addition to the
world of fiction.
I hope you
enjoy the interview.
Here is
a follow-up interview on the publication
of WHITE.
