Week of February 22 , 2006 | John Feinstein

This week’s guest is John Feinstein. Mr. Feinstein is one of our country’s finest sports journalists. His writing and his observations on the nature of athletics is both accurate and passionate; a rare commodity these days.

We discuss his new book LAST DANCE: BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE FINAL FOUR, recently published by Little, Brown.

We also talk about CADDY FOR LIFE, the moving story of Bruce Edwards, Tom Watson’s lifelong caddy. Mr. Edwards developed ALS in 2003. He and Mr. Feinstein had been friends since 1981, and the story of Edward’s struggle with ALS, and the dignity with which he carried himself could only have been written by John Feinstein.

Both books are highly recommended. Mr. Feinstein recently received an Edgar nomination for LAST SHOT, a Young Adult mystery written in 2005. I hope you enjoy our conversation, I know I did.
